What do you mean banned?

banned from field use? Banned from authorities?

Lots of guns were banned in the 80's from lots of fields and tournaments.. guns with direct feeds and co2 tanks were banned from some places, the NSG tourneys banned wooden stocked guns.. the Mod 85 was banned from just about everywhere (thats one mean gun to be on the receiving end of.....)

Early on, the Rainmaker, Angel and Shocker were banned from some fields because they could shoot too fast, the industry was wondering if 13bps was taking things past being a game (imagine if that would of stuck...), the Automag RT was banned from tournaments because of its tendency to mechanically bounce.. the SMG 60 was banned because it was full auto in many places.

Either PMI 3 or F1 Illustrator would be my guess, but it may have been one of the less succesful guns before them.

Both wrong.. and the PMI-3 came before the VM... subtle differences, but they are there.

The spyder was a direct ripoff of another gun... made by an American Company... beginning with the letter 'L'.
