Its a propane powered pump gun.. interesting, check it out -

http://www.tippmann.com/product_guide/m ... tegoryid=4

50,000 shots per tank is reallly interesting, and I hear word that a semi is in development.

I got my reservations (mainly about using flame to propel paint, and some hom modders) but its an interesting concept.

Your guys thoughts?

i saw the C3 in a APG i got yesteday and was gunna post up about it, but never got around to it. It seems like a cool pump, but I'm kinda worried about having a leak and breathing in the propane, or getting the propane near a flame at anytime. Still 50,000 shot off a 16oz is crazy, you could go years without needing a fill, I hope this gun doesn't bomb.

Actionvillage has the C3 $229. It would be cool in a semi auto ... which Tippmann says is coming next.

I get nervous about the flame at first, but then I realize that any firearm uses a flame to fire a bullet and is perfectly safe. You don't see people mod'ing them to shoot gunpowder out the muzzel??? I hope it works out for Tippmann.

Well it does use combustion, but also propane runs around 125psi ( depending on temp). So more its probally only as dangerous as an HPA or c02 tank.

Much like every new product, this one will have it's fair share of bad publicity due to injuries, explosions, fires, and burns caused by irresponsible people doing things with the gun or propellant that are not approved usage.

Apparently the propane is burned during the firing of the gun. I would be very interested to see how the gun operates.

I do not envision a large flame or explosion coming from the barrel like a standard firearm.

There is a refill device that is sold at Harbor Freight that allows you to refill your own propane cylinders very cheaply.

I hadn't thought of it, but on another board someone pointed out that because it actualy ignites the propane it is considered a firearm. Just like any other gun. And due to average barrel lengths this is going to be illegal in Texas, his home state. Don't know exactly what the laws are here.
As for 50,000 shots per...where I play co2 refills are free

From the sounds of things you wouldn't even be needing to refill your own propane. You would only need a fill every 10 years.

CO2 fills are free.. but with this you wont run out for at least 25 cases..

They say a semi version is coming out in 6 months.
