The minds behind paintballcity.org, mcarterbrown.com, vintagerex.com have made a new paintball search engine that searches some of the most popular paintball websites, and filters out the stuff you dont want from google.
The new Paintball Search Engine, how now been updated and getting better.
http://www.pbhound.comWhile still not everything is spidered, it has gotten dramatically better. A lot more results, faster results, etc.
I'm enjoying using it as I find it comforting to type in the word phantom and come up with the paintball gun from CCI and still have over 11,000 appropriate results.
Example:
http://www.pbhound.com/cgi-bin/search.c ... =0&dt=back &sy=0&sp=0&m=near&wf=1101&GroupBySite=yes&s=IRP D
She's still very much in the BETA stages, but let me know what you think this needs to have to make it a better search. Or something you think this needs to be different then others (not that there are others for paintball).
She's not meant to replace google, yahoo, and others, but more of a way to search the sites we KNOW we want to search.
Sure you can search the paintball gun "Deuce" on google, but you need OTHER key words to find it. Like "paintball gun", etc.
But when we talk about then or sell them in forums, we don't use the word "paintball" or "gun" or "marker". We just assume those are a given. So we just say "Deuce".
Also if you don't see a site that should be there, let me know so I can add it to my list!!
Enjoy!
