OK Guys and Girls, you asked for it, now we are going to host it!
*Please Email me if you are comming! Azzy - renegade.azzy@verizon.net *

Pittsburgh Pump Play Game October 2nd, 2004 *Date Changed!*
We invite you to come to Riverside Renegade Paintball for a fun night of getting back to your playing roots. Paintball started out at many fields with simple pump guns. And now many fields across the country are going back to those simpler times once a month, and we though we would join in on the fun!

What is a "pump gun"?

For those who don't know, a pump gun is any paintball gun that must be manually re-cocked by the action of a pump or bolt handle, before a shot can be fired. These range from the basic Brass Eagle Talon, to the awesome paint spewers, the Brad Nestle Sniper S.H.O. .

Why play pump?

Well, playing pump tends to focus the mind. You have to make sure each of those shots count, because you may not get that second one! You also save a lot of paint, since you usually don't have the ability to spray hundreds of rounds on a target. it also levels the playing field, and lets a player's skill at moving and marksmanship shine through over equipment superiority.

So, what do I bring?

Well, your normal paintballing clothes, mask, and a pump gun. Don't have one? Well, we have some rentals here, on a first come first serve basis. you can also bring any extra pump guns you may have, and as always, bring a friend. pump play is some of the best play for those new to the sport, where they don't have to worry about getting shot up. Feel free to bring snacks and extra drinks.

What kind of gun do I bring?

Any pump gun you want. Be it a BE Blade, or a PPS Pug, we welcome anyone with a pump for these games. in addition, we will allow any double action guns, such as the NSG Rapide and GZ2000, as long as you use a 10rd tube or stick feed (you old school guys know what those are 8) ) If you are bringing a gun that uses 12 gram cartridges, please bring enough for a few hours play. We don't have any on hand to supply. If you have extra, feel free to bring them and share the wealth.

How much will it cost?

$15 dollars a person. This gets you 250 rounds of paint (yes, some will use all of this, some wont. We are asking you share a bag, it helps pay for referees on the field, as well as the use of the field) and entry + CO2 fills. FPO Please!

What time?

We will get there and set everyone up, make teams at 4:30. We hope to get a few good hours out of the day, so the faster we get there and get set up, the longer we play!

What kind of games?

Classic capture the flag, terminator, defender and what ever else we come up with or are suggested. If you havent seen the field before, check out the pictures section on www.riversiderenegades.com .

Come one, come all, pass this along to your friends! Hope to see you there!

I am totally into this. I will be there unless something major happens to keep me away. I have an old Talon that I can use (Azzy knows all about this). I hope this will be sufficient. Do I need a gun with a longer barrel, I wonder? See, this is what makes it fun, all the new possibilities to worry about.

Say, do you think we can get Buddy to play this game? Maybe some of the refs that never get to play on Sundays? I guess it would depend on how many people we get signed up.

Now, one thing that I hope is that there is not too much foliage lost before Sept 25, because it seems to me that pump is best played in a jungle-like environment where you lie in wait in camouflage and then jump out to annihilate your enemy with one shot. I don't think the field will defoliate much by then, probably.

Nah, use the talon, with any luck, the mcarterbrown.com PGP will be up and running, and its got the same lenght barrel.

As for foliage, those winter games can make playing pump interesting, with as fast as a game can go. Its a fun challenge sometimes.

In order for this thing to work we must have a confirmed play date and time "etched in stone."

I have already started telling my friends a pump-gun only game was scheduled for Sept 25th at 4:30pm. Some were in the process of making arrangements at their respective jobs to free up time to play on that date/time. Now I must return to all my friends and tell them that we were bumped from that date/time so a private group can use the field during the date/time we had selected. So we will need to reschedule the game for a new date/time.

Once a date/time is selected --really need to negotiate with the field to keep it in place. Once you start down this slippery slope of rescheduling your games every time a private group wishes to use your scheduled date/time on the field--you will never get a pump-gun game off the ground. Let alone attract people to play since many need to make arrangements to play on selected days/times.

This is not a slam at the field. I love Riverside and would never speak ill of it---ever. Its just we really need a confirmed date/time that the players can count on.

Trust me, its not my doing. I believed this WAS "etched in stone".

Unfortunately I have very little to do with scheduling.

would you like me to tell you guys how to get a "etched in stone date"?

well i have been playing at riverside for many many years. and the one way you can always get a date for when "you" want to play is. call and reserve the field just like everyone else... but then you are faced with the same thing everyone else is when they do this, getting the people to show up. that way you have a private booking at the field and can (to some degree) dictate who plays at the field and have little chance of getting bumped from the field. see what i am saying pantherxus.

as far as me playing a pump only game. i am up for it, but most of you know that my situation can change at any moment. as of right now i should, i say again i should, be home by then.

can i use my aft with the stick clips at this game?
