you people dont really know anthing your talking about besides like madcat.

thought this was a paintball site.

i can tell now that im never going to riverside to play some paintball.

Admin - If you are going to post something like this, at least have the guts to log in or use a name. We play paintball, however, a large amount of players also have served our country, and thats fine by me if they want to talk about it.

During the Veitnam Era Green Berets were in the Marines Corps but now

they are in the army.

Theres no need to argue so basically, Special Forces from any branch

of the Service are a bunch of badass men.

As someone that has spent the last 8 years in a Special Operations Unit, let me throw in my two cents.

USSOCOM consists of:
US Army Special Operations Command (USASOC)
Special Forces (the green berets)
Rangers
SFOD-D
160th Special Operations Air Regiment (SOAR) (The helo pilots in BlackHawk Down)
Civil Affairs
Psychological Operations
John F Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School (JFKSWC)

Navy:
US Navy Special Warfare Detachment
Navy Seals
Boat Teams

Air Force:
Para Rescue
Combat Controllers

Marines:
Marines have no units under control of USSOCOM although many of their units are considered SOC, Special Operations Capable. This has been an ongoing debate for years dealing with command and control issues. This may have changed in the past year.

Special Forces is an Army organization. While it is possible to transfer from other branches into the Army to go to the Selection and Qualification courses, you must be in the Army inorder to attend the courses.
And 10th Mountain is not a Special Forces or Special Operations Unit...they are light infantry.

I stand corrected.

Not a big deal, I am not pretending to be an expert on SF. Although, I did spend 5 years in the Army I never memorized all of the SF units.

If anyone wants to know how to set up a Fuel Site let me know. ROFL.

Not trying to jump on anyone...figured I'd help out and clear up some of the misunderstandings. Only reason I know the SOCOM structure is from being in the command.
'sides, ain't no job in the military better then the rest. Everyone's got a purpose. As to setting up RFP's, more power to you. No way I want to be holding one of those static hooks, watching a blackhawk drop toward me with sparks flying off the rotors....all while standing next to fuel blivets (think that's the right word...big ol' 400+ Gallon bags)

haha ... yeah that's the right word. That is definitely one of the more dangerous parts of fuel supply in the Army.

Luckily my unit was/is more bulk supply (though, we are trained on what you described). We setup and maintained the huge Fuel Supply Points with the 100k bags. hmmmm ... maybe it would be safer refueling aircraft? haha.

No offense taken, btw.
