Would I need to buy a regulator in order to run compressed air on my spyder?

no, you don't need a regulator.

Spyders are high pressure guns and need more pressure to opperate, only low pressure guns need regs. I'm pretty sure Spyders run at sumthing around 800 psi, and most LP gun run at 1/5 of that and since HPA tanks put out more pressure than the gun needs, it needs to be regulated on a LP gun. But since high pressure tanks and preset tanks have a output of 800 or 850 psi it doesn't need regulated on your spyder.

Running a Spyder on Compressed Air isn't really cost effective. You're just as good with CO2 unless it is cold out.

Just my .02.

Thanks paintya, I'm just tryin to look into the future. I really just started playing seriously this summer, but absolutely love it. I'd eventually like to upgrade to high end mechanical gun, thats the only reason I'd like to get the HP air.

No NOID= No need for HPA enless in the winter.

I thought, since HPA doesn't need to expand like co2 does, any marker could get better consistancy in its FPS by using it.

Belly, that is true. Any marker using HPA would be more consistent. However, a good reg would do the job on a spyder, or a cocker, etc. HPA from what I gathered is best used on a Bko, or an electric marker such as an Ion, etc. Then again, Antisiphon would work to. I guess it all depends on your pocket book.
