I've paintballed a few times and really enjoyed doing so. The other day I was checking at Gander Mountain for some things and I saw the flyer there by the paintball supplies. I'd like to get involved in paintball, but being I do some shooting sports, and have some money tied up there, I don't have alot to spend. What kind of gun would you suggest for a beginner? The last time I played really was when most guns were pumps. At least I think they were. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

J.T.

Best bet, rent and borrow, see what you like, and then go from there. Good beginner setups can be had from Tippman, and PMI. Good deals can be had on ebay as well, I reguarly see AutoMags and Cockers going for around 200 dollars.

First thing you want to buy paintball wise is a mask. Find a good one, and make sure you like it, because you will be wearing it a lot. Vforce makes a well priced good mask, that is resistant to foggin and has a good viewing range. The JT Spectra is very comfortable, and can be added to with thermal lenses of many colors, as well as visors and fans.

Feel free to ask to shoot any of the guns I have, you can see a lot of them here: http://www.mcarterbrown.com/cgi-bin/gal ... egade_Azzy . You might even reconise some of the old pumps I have (Sheridan PGP and a Brass Eagle Cobra "Power Pump")

Shoot what feels good to you. To quote Doc Nickel:
Quote:
-Given the same barrel, paint and consistency, a Talon is equally as accurate as an Excalibur.

...Pull trigger, ball goes bye-bye. Repeat.

J.T. i work up at gander mountain in west mifflin, i'm their full time resident paintball expert. like azzy said spyders, PMI Piranhas, and tippmans are all good guns, if you get a chance to shoot some, stop back up and i can hook you up with the right set up. we have a number of good package deals consisting of every thing you need, mask, gun, tank, hopper, squeegee, barrel plug, 2 pod pouch. or we can do a custome set-up with your choice of mask, gun, tank, hopper, and such other accessories you so desire. if you have any questions feel free to ask, or just stop up.

Chris
