The top cocking lever pulls right out - but you would have trouble cocking it unless you cut out the top of the reciever. Aside from the ACS bolt you would be getting an egrip if you upgrade. I have a spyder pilot ACS with the bolt in it and it does work pretty well now that I have all the kinks ironed out. Also the egrip is really nice to have. I think no matter what you should consider buying used. You can get great markers for far less than retail if you buy them used & there isn't much to go wrong with a spyder. And if you buy used and decide to sell it for a Tippmann you don't lose as much of your investment. |

The ACS and Jam should be able to go it, you will just not have the ease of bolt removal that the top cocking ones do. (your pin is internal, and seperate from the cocking knob) |

You are referring to the linkage pin between the bolt and hammer? I was under the impression he meant the cocking pin due to the fact that his spyder is side cocking and he can't find a side cocking ACS bolt. Even the top cocking spyders have a seperate pin that connects the bolt/hammer. So they are still a pain to remove the bolt because you have to pull the hammer/buffer too. |

Yep, the link pin. Sure, it may be a pain to pull the whole thing out, I've been doing it for years. Then again, you wont chop as much, and less reason to pull the bolt out anyhow |

Now it wouldn't be any more difficult than my current setup. I already pull both the whole thing out eveytime i have to fiddle. Sounds like most of you got it right. On the original Spyder the cocking lever was attached to the striker (lower bolt) and not the upper bolt. So all I need to be able to do is remove the cocking lever from the top-cocking bolt so that it has none. I'm not replacing the striker, so i'll still be able to recock the gun. I have been thinking about the Egrip. But if I did that i might as well go and get the LPC and the regulator. And after I spend all that money, I might as well have just bought one of the newer Spyders anyways (used of course). for $100 I could easily get a used Pilot ACS, whihc has everything I would be upgrading to anyways.
