Finally I got my primary gun set up and enjoy it I was intrested in a

Phantom. I was looking at the Micro Phantom or a acid wash green

Phantom. My question was for a barrel to accel and be accurate at any

resonable distance doesnt need to have a barrel longer than 6in? I

thought that you atleast needed 8in.

For best consistency and efficiency you should have 6-8 inches of good fitting barrel.

As for anything else on a Phantom... its a very basic gun. Anything stock from CCI is going to be cosmetic, but work well.

Punisher over at Punisher's Customs (www.punishers-customs.com) has some very nice additions for phantoms, some of them are sold over at Air Soldier Products (http://airsoldier.com/)

Also around are the Carter machine guns (Like the Comp, Buzzard, Termite) who were being sold by Dye for a while. Good stuff, high priced.. but good stuff.

Lapco is also doing a re-make of the Grey Ghost which should come out some time in the next year, I hear they are shipping now. Internals are all Lapco (high efficiency) and gun now takes a spyder threaded barrel.

(Just a few things to think about, maybe give you options. Do remember though, CCI has about the BEST customer service in the PB industry)

stock phantom barrels, 8" or 11" work for me without a problem. Purchase the tiny little inserts to deal with small paint that's around, and start goggling.

Seriously, I've had no problems with the stock barrels other than roll out. Which you shouldn't get with the inserts. Or you can paint nail polish around on the inside to create a "widget" like device.

I have the old urban camo setup, acid wash stuff looks pretty nice. If you want a hopper, get a center feed body. The right feed bodies with modern hoppers are balanced wrong. The gun weighs less then a fully loaded hopper.

When I ran it with something larger, I used a WGP reg on it, but mostly so I had something to grab on the front. The gun is quite consistant.
