It's too bad to hear you say that you fix alot of them.

Do you contribute any of this to neglect by the owners? Or just wear and tear?

From what I hear/read they (spyder) are very reliable and tough. Perhaps not as much as a tippman, but it is my understanding they can take a little bit of a beating.

Any of you guys use J & J Ceramic barrel?

HAve a J&J for my shocker, never used it, but I have heard good things.

As for the spyders and clones, I would go 70/30 on owner caused problems. Most times they are not taken care of, or put back together wrong.

i see nothing wrong with spyders. it was my first gun. now i did buy it back when moses what a kid but i have had very few problems with the gun.

on another good part there is not a thing that i can not fix and i have one of the biggest parts kits for those guns.

also like tippmans, just have not gotten around to picking one up. still working on a deal for a crusty tippman f/a

Azzy, i think the reason your spyder was down so much is that you were always tinkering with it, hence your link to tinkersguild at the bottom of your post. all i ever add to my spyder was a PMI 6 stage expasnion chamber, venturi bolt, and armoson stealth barrel, i have never had it go down or need tuning. ok enough of the pokin fun, spyders are great guns, i sell them 3 to 1 over tippmans when i can keep them in stock.

Just nitpicking, but the link is to Vintage Rex, an online museum of classic paintball guns. Heck, there aren't any spyders there!

6x expansion chamber (One of the most useless purchases, IMHO)
Remote lines
stocks
Turbo Valve
Spring kits
and a strange metal elbow.....

Yeah, a bit of modification... mainly because after I started to try and make it faster, it wouldn't work as well. They do their best at around 6-8 bps, any faster and they get fidgety and wear faster. Heck, if you want, they can cycle at ~40bps in theory. I just woundn't do it.

the hard part is finding a loader to reliably feed that fast, then you'll need to invest in a new sear and striker after every game

Actually that is with the sear holding down... That braaap is the gun going that fast. If you feed it liquid, it will keep going, and a q-loader may be able to keep up with it.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone that ref'd Last Saturday! I had a freaking blast playing at your field!

I will definitely be back once I get a marker of my own. Probably before spring.

Do you get good turn outs on Sundays in the winter? I have 2 friends that I am dragging back into paintball with me, so we are looking forward to walk-on days!

We had an OK turnout last winter, btu if the poll on the front page means anything, it should be pretty good this winter. With you guys, it will be 3 more
