Ok, Fets brought up a good question.

What kind of mask do you like?
What is your biggest like about it?
What is your biggest gripe?

Myself,

I wear either a JT Proteus or Spectra (old style)

Both fit quite well, with or without glasses, offer good protection (expecially the Proteus) and leses are readily availible. The fan system works well enough that when sitting they dont fog up much.

Biggest gripe is how hard it is to change lenses, and the recent quality makes them easy to stain from a direct hit (even though they recommend after each hit that you should change the lense). The fans crack easy out of the box, and the elastic wears after a few seasons. All in all, not bad for something I use at least once a week, maybe twice.

the V-Force Shield is a good mask, easy to clean, covers your face well, and rarley fogs. the only bad thing is that the lenses scratch easaly and if you take a hard step, with the wrong foam, they can wiggle out of place wich is annoying.

There's this new mask called the V-Force Vantage that is like the Profiler only it has better head/face coverage and is only $35-$45, the only bad thing is that it doesn't have a "bubbled" lens, but i think a thermal, or you could just buy a thermal lens for it if it doesn't come with one.

The wrong foam? Are you talking about the difference between the rental and retail version?

Is the Dye Invision significantly better than the V-force Shield? Does anyone have experience with both? I was planning on getting a Shield, because I love how simple it is to remove and clean the lense between games, but at $45 the Invision is a good deal.

well ya thats what i meant by foam, but both can be bought at most stores where they're sold. If your goin to get the invision mask try it on first and see how it fits, i mean most of these "speedball masks" barly or don't even cover your jawline or midneck, or shadow your neck. As long as its comfortable for you to wear should really decide witch one to buy.

hope this helps you in you choice

hold the train for one minute. what is a "speedball" mask?

i have two jt spectras and a dye invision. the spectras are probably my favorite with the dye a very close second. i think the spectra lens are pretty darn easy to replace. then again i do not take mine apart that often unless i take a few hits the the mask which goos it up pretty good. the one down fall to the invision that i can think off is the lens removal/install can be a pain. but i have only done this once and i am sure that it would become easier the more i do it just like it did with the spectra.

some don't like the dye because it seems to stop right at the jaw line. i say quite being a girlie man, but hey that is my opinion and i also have worn a jt whipper mask (if any out there are old enough to remeber those) and a half mask once.

i have use a couple of the vforce models. matty drown has one that i like. the easy lens removal is a nice feature. then again how many time have you needed to do a pit stop style lens change?

to me it is not a big deal but it maybe to you. if you want to try out the invision let me know

The fast lens removal is nice for cleaning.. and drying.

Then again, it would be nice to swap in a tinted lens for earlier in the day, and after the sun has went down a bit, switch to a clear lens.

Well, what i meant by "speedball" masks are masks popular for speedball like profilers, invisions, and other jt models that are made with a softer plastic or rubber is what i meant.

I have a Morph and a Profiler --- both are great, but my Profiler gets more play these days. Very comfortable and decent fog resistance for the lens.
