I'm just curious about something because I've never played on your field before but intend to a lot this upcoming season. Is the pace of the games at RR slow? Like people walking around for a while before they see someone? Or are they like pretty fast paced. I can't get a good read on the size of the field from the map.

For those of you who have played at Three River's tire field (the large field compared to their other woods fields), how does that compare to RR? (size and pace)

well the pace is how ever you wanna play it, if you wanna get in the chit quick just sprint down the main path until you see the other team OR you can slowly push the flanks and try to sneak, the field is big with challenging terrain and the vegetation gets pretty dense in the spring and is a bit intimidating to new people, that is until they find the good hiding spots... but this DEFINITLY isnt a speed ball field and never will be

gravedigger, you said it all, the game is as fast as you want it to be, if you want to be in a battle ASAP, run down one of the main roads and you will have your speedball. but if you like to sneak like i do, wait and see what developes first. Riverside Renegades is unlike any other field. play it the way you want the game to be played and see what happens.

That's cool. I've always liked big fields (as long as you have enough people, I can't see playing a large field with 2 people on each team). Ahh, I didn't even know there was a main path..that's basically the info I needed. Do you guys play capture the flag or like capture the fort? How do those forts work, does each team start with a designated amount of forts or what? Where do you guys put the flags for CTF games? Thanks for the replys.

Actually, I have played 2 on 3 at the field before, pretty fun stuff.

For normal games, capture the flag works like this. You are started at a specific fort, and you must got to your opponent's fort, capture their flag, and return it to your fort, all within the time limit set that game. That is the majority of games at Riverside Renegades. If there is a LARGE group (usually when you get more than 25 on each team) you have a mega game. Forts are worth points, and holding them for a pre determined amount of time scores more points. This style lasts all day, and you have re-insertions every 15-25 minutes.

That is AWESOME (the mega game). Like a scenario game at Skirmish, only 5 hours closer lol. But anyway, I really can't wait to try out your field, hope I don't get lost lol.

Seriously, I love the fact that you guys have a forum. It adds sooo much being able to talk with other paintball fanatics in the area. Plus when I get there I'll already know half the people, heheh.

I only played once with about 10 or 12 people but it was pretty fast paced. There weren't many people camping in the forts either. And you will be glad they have all that brush, it allows you to move up on people who are in forts with out wasting a ton of ammo, with out brush and forts it's just who can shoot the most.

I've played in forest games where there was so much brush it was impossible to shoot people who were over 20 feet away; mostly outlaw games. I tend to like games where you can see and long ball people who are far away. Basically I like fields that have some wideo open areas. People camping in the forts was a concern for me, thanks for addressing that.

There is a fair amount of brush on the field, and a lot more once summer comes. You can see the difference on the map page. there are a good bit of places to longball, mostly from the upper hills.

And remember, if you ever go hunting, you can shoot the deer through the bush. Right pv?
