I was looking over all of my gear, when at the bottom of my gear bag I found my old VL triad and i got to thinking. Could you turn a triad into a pump? Can it be done? If so, does any one know how to do it? I think that if it can be do It would be a good project for me.

Not too hard, you got 2 ways.

1: Sortof Pump.

Connect the bolt to a pump handle externally. Remove the link pin for the bolt and hammer. The hammer will re-cocker normally, but the pump handle will chamber the ball.

2: Full conversion

You need to block the blowback port on the valve, slot the hammer to be re-cocked by the pin on the bolt.

That way is a little harder, expecially since the hammer on a gun is made of some tough metal.

Cool thanks. The first one is what i was thinking of doing. I am going to use some steel rod to make the conection. But do you know any place to buy pump gun stuff.

I dont remember about if the Triad needs an adapter like the other VL / BE guns to get a reg on it.. but see if you can find a cheap BL Tornado, or even a WGP reg for on a pump would do well.

As for a pump handle, you could try a phantom pump handle, r fashion one out of wood.. whatver fits and you can tap for the pump rod (in the case of wood, insert a brass fitting and then screw the pump rod n)

As for the spring, Im guessing you are thinking of a pump return spring, and you can use whatever fits your guide rod (if you have one) You dont really need one if you keep your hand on the pump and hold it forward.

This project is going great. It is taking a little longer than i had hoped. I will post pics when i get closer to being done. So far i have made everything. The guide rod is made of steel pipe that I milled to fit the gun. I found a spring at the scrap yard to use as a return spring. I made the conection from the pump to the bolt with some steel rod and pices from an erector set. All I need now is the pump handal and a reg. Not really sure about the reg. I really dont want to put to much money in to it.

I think I am now going with a rock and cock loader. It will take some work. With craking of the feed neck and grinding it smooth. I think after that I will drill two hole and tap them and that how i will attache the new feed neck. I am pretty sure I can do this but figured i would get some advise befor I jump into this. So any thoughts?
