Right now we have about 10 people interested in coming up. We are targeting the middle of May. Can't wait.

Welcome!

We have pretty good turn out, but you have to remember to call ahead and let Buddy know you are coming, and how many you are bringing, even on the walk-on days. Lets hime know how much gear and paint to get ready.

We have had groups as small as 5 on 5, and as large as 75 on 75 up there on a Sunday, so the more people you can bring, the better.

We will also be hosting a big game at the end of May, stay tuned to the main page for info.

Just had a couple of other questions about the open Sunday's. What time do you start on Sunday's and how long do you play. Also in the group that I am brining up there are one or two that have never played before and were wondering if you have a little saftey course or something before the games begin that will show them the basics of the gun and playing. I have filled them in somewhat but don't have anything visual to show them. Our group is looking forward to coming up on May 16.

Sundays are open, you just have to call and make sure enough people will be coming, which shouldn't be too hard with nice weather. Times and prices are listed on the webpage, I will let everyone know about any changes made to them, and there is always a safety briefing, unlike some other places I have seen....

The only time I saw for Sunday was for the winter months. But anyway a final question I had was with the different forts that are listed on the field map do you just play capture the flag or do you have other scenarios you run on Sunday's. Also do you want me to call say Monday May 10 if we are coming on May 16 or do want me to call a little closer to Sunday. Thanks for the answers to the questions and we just got a couple more people to come up.

I would say call at least 2 days before you plan on showing up for a walk-on, if not possible, at least the night before.

If we get a lot of people there, we can do other games. We have in the past played around with a few things, but it doesnt always work out well.

I think that different games would be great. I have played at Riverside for years and the only two games that seemed to ever get played there is skirmish or CTF. I know that these games are the simplest for most new player or some that do not know the lay out of the field but for some of us more experienced players it could be chalangeing. There are many variations that we could play or even come up with. Lets see what we can do.

I have a new question for you about paint. I see that you sell paint there but I was wondering if we are allowed to bring our own paint for the open games on Sunday's. If we can is there certain kinds and and what kind is allowed.

Unless Buddy has made a revision, only field paint is allowed. The upcoming Monster Game is BYOP though 8)

The field paint is typically RPS Big Ball. A 500 rd bag usually lasts me all day.

I once played an interesting game with a group of friends, most of them regulars to the firld (but somewhere enar one of their houses) that we called Quake.

Basically, you started out with a bunch of guns. On person, like a ref, takes and hides all the guns on the field. Many of them were placed right out in the open. To help with the recovery, the guns had red tape (like the stuff we put on the goggles for teams) was attached to each one. Also, everyone was shown how each gun operated (like for instance, how to change the 12gram in the splatmaster or talon) and was given a pod of 100 paintballs. Then at the starting signal, everyone ran out. you could throw paint, find a gun and use it, (or onr of the 2 slingshots that were on the field) but you could only have one gun at a time.

Turned out to be a big hit, I loved it (had a cool pump battle with kzuroski that day) and if we could still use that land, I would do it all over again.

It does require a few things. You have to be able to trust everyone with your gun. If you dont want your $1700 Intimidator laying out there, then dont offer it up. You wont see it until the ref goes back out to collect them (a gps would help with this as well). You also have to have an assortment of paintball delivery systems (pumps, pistols, slingshots, electro guns, blowguns.. ) to keep it interesting. It then becomes a real survival game, and gets that blood pumping.

You also have to keep track of your paint. 100 rounds can be shot really quick....
